Our doctoral student M.Sc. Eng. Marcin Rygielski made it big!  Winning a prestigious PRELUDIUM pre-doctoral grant in the amount of 69 890 PLN.

We are proud to announce that M.Sc. Eng. Marcin Rygielski, conducting his doctoral research at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Modern Technologies of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń under the supervision of Dr. hab. Krzysztof Zienkiewicz, Prof. NCU, has been awarded a PRELUDIUM grant (23rd edition) in the competition organized by the National Science Centre. The awarded funds, amounting to PLN 69,890, will support the implementation of the project entitled "Functional characterization of AtSSP5 and AtHAD4 proteins from Arabidopsis thaliana as potential homologs of yeast phosphatase NEM1."

The project focuses on studying lipid metabolism in plants, particularly on the role of SSP5 and HAD4 proteins in Arabidopsis thaliana as potential homologs of yeast phosphatase NEM1. The planned research aims to understand the mechanisms regulating lipid homeostasis and their impact on cellular processes, which could contribute to improving plant resistance and productivity. The project's outcomes hold the potential to drive innovation in agriculture and biotechnology, especially in the context of enhancing resilience to environmental stress.
