Description of the project | Characteristics and main objectives of the research project:
· The goals of the project are: obtaining mixtures of active substances, checking their activity after combination with polymer, evaluating their safety for human and the environment, knowing their mechanisms of action; · The achieving of main objectives let obtain the unique material which can be used in many areas of life, like e.g. food industry, medicine and textiles; · The research project has innovative character and is a continuation of previous research as well; In previous research active substances were introduced to the polymers. But the aim of this project is obtaining a unique mixture with antimicrobial properties which will a bioactive additive to the polymer matrix. The project is conducted in cooperation with the Department of Biological and Biochemical Sciences, University of Pardubice (Czech Republic), Chair of Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Institute of Materials Science and Dyes, Toruń Principal supervisor: dr hab.
