Novel plant adenylyl cyclases and their functions in signal transduction and plant responses to the environment
Title of the project | Novel plant adenylyl cyclases and their functions in signal transduction and plant responses to the environment |
Primary and secondary scientific disciplines | biology, chemistry |
Description of the project | Characteristics and main objectives of the research project:
The aim of the project is to analyse at the genetic, biochemical and functional level new plant proteins with adenylyl cyclase activity in Arabidopsis thaliana. The project implementation includes the following main stages: · Bioinformatics analysis of selected plant proteins with cAMP activity. · Purification and biochemical analysis of proteins obtained by recombination in bacterial systems (overexpression, purification, complete biochemical analysis, enzymatic activity, in vivo analysis in bacterial mutants) · Functional analysis in planta – analysing cyclases existing mutants (phenotypic analysis in respond to external conditions). The project is conducted in cooperation with: Univeristy of Perugia, Italy Principal supervisor: Dr hab. Adriana Szmidt-Jaworska, prof. NCU |
