Description of the project | 1.INTRODUCTION. Increase in the international competitiveness has been an important and urgent challenge facing the economy of Kazakhstan over the past few years. The experience of many countries over the globe seems to prove that this challenge can be met effectively by attracting foreign capital, which can in turn contribute to the successful modernization of existing economic systems as well as accelerating the economic growth and the pace of socioeconomic development.
The subject of the research is dynamics of inflow of direct foreign investments to Kazakhstan, the role of FDI in the Kazakhstan economy, as well as the FDI determinants in this country. 2. THE RESEARCH OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT: The main research objective of this project is to identify and assess the impact of FDI on the economic growth in Kazakhstan, as well as to identify determinants of FDI in Kazakhstan. 3. THE RESEARCH CONCEPT AND WORK PLAN: Basic research will be conducted in 5 PHASES. 1: Working on complementation of the base of enterprises with foreign capital in Kazakhstan. 2: Carrying out the pilot research among selected foreign enterprises, which run their business activity in Kazakhstan. 3: Carrying out the quantitative part I of the research covering FDI in Kazakhstan 4: Carrying out the quantitative part II. 5: Analysis of the research results and discussing them in the international environment.
